'WORLD'S BEST CAR' ON SALE AT RIVERVALE MAZDA

Since its launch in 2007, Mazda’s newest supermini has gone from strength to strength attracting critical acclaim for its bold styling and exciting performance. However, this week the Mazda2 has begun to conquer the world after the all-new five-door hatchback was voted ‘2008 World Car of the Year’ (WCOTY) by an international jury of 47 automotive writers.

Selected from a list of 39 global contenders (Which included the Ford Mondeo and Mercedes C-Class), the new Mazda2 was crowned ‘World’s Best Car’ at the recent New York International Auto Show and with previous winners of this coveted award including the Lexus LS460, BMW 3-Series and Audi A6, the new Mazda2 is in great company.

“This highly-acclaimed accolade confirms that Mazda2 is indeed one of the very best cars available in the supermini market. Thanks to its distinctive styling, a spacious cabin, excellent driving dynamics and low CO2 figures, the Mazda2 ticks all the boxes for small car buyers.”

Malcolm Hance dealer principal, Rivervale Mazda.

The new Mazda2 represents a bold break with automotive trends, reversing the spiral of ever increasing weight and size. Now 40mm shorter and weighing 100kg less than its predecessor, the new Mazda2 is able to achieve an impressive 65.7mpg and a CO2 emissions rating at just 114g/km. These cuts all add up and offer our customers an annual road tax rate of just £35 and complete exemption from London Congestion charging when proposed changes are introduced later this year.

Five versions of the five-door hatchback are available with a choice of three petrol and one diesel engine plus three equipment levels – priced from just £8,499 on-the-road for the 1.3-litre, 75ps petrol TS model.
