MAZDA TOPS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY FOR THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR

Mazda has been ranked 'top' for the Automotive Sector in the latest UK Customer Satisfaction Index published this week by the Institute of Customer Service.  The twice-yearly survey, which questions 25,000 adults and monitors their response to 20 key questions about 'what customers really want', covers a broad spread of retail, financial, tourism, telecoms, transport and automotive businesses.

After claiming top place for the Automotive Sector, Mazda was described as 'best at meeting customers' needs' and was awarded a score of 86 – 10 points above the sector average and three points clear of its nearest competitor – to comfortably out-perform all other prestigious and popular brands.

"We place a great deal of emphasis on delivering consistently high standards of customer service, so it is fantastic to receive special acknowledgment and to be part of such a dedicated network of Mazda dealers," comments  Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.  "This survey result is also a strong testament to the ability of Mazda's in-house customer service department to focus on what UK motorists really want and deliver a professional service with a smile to ensure that Mazda ownership is a truly satisfying experience."

The Top 10 priorities used by the ICS to assess company performance were: overall quality of product or service, being treated as a valued customer, speed of service, friendliness of staff, handling of problems, handling of enquiries, competence of staff, ease of doing business, being kept informed, and helpfulness of staff.

ALL-NEW MAZDA3 ON SALE AT RIVERVALE MAZDA PRICED FROM £13,500

The all-new Mazda3 range has arrived at Rivervale Mazda offering motorists outstanding value for money thanks to its generous equipment levels and low running costs. Both retail and fleet customers in Brighton will benefit from lower road tax as well as capital allowance savings due to the dramatic CO2 reductions that bring Mazda3 models below the 120g/km and 160g/km tax thresholds.

The new 20-strong model line-up (16 hatchback and four saloon cars), priced from £13,500 on-the-road, also boasts a more striking design, higher levels of interior comfort and a more luxurious cabin.  All new Mazda3 models are available with 0 per cent APR* or low rate finance.

Alternatively, customers trading-in vehicles over 10 years old under the Government-backed vehicle scrappage scheme can benefit from a Mazda allowance of £2,000, in addition to the £1,000 Government contribution, on all new Mazda3 models – bringing the entry-level price to just £10,500.

"With its fresh bodystyle, more powerful and emotional design, the all-new Mazda3 brings the sophistication, style, technology and refinement of the larger Mazda6 to the small family car sector," comments Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.  "The new model is improved visually, technically and in terms of comfort.  It also has an even more generous specification at each equipment level, so Mazda3 continues to deliver great value for money."

The all-new Mazda3 now has best-in-class aerodynamics, retuned powertrains and reduced weight (down by 15 kilos on some models), resulting in significant reductions in CO2 and fuel consumption.

The CO2 output of the 1.6 petrol model has been cut to just 149g/km, from 162g/km on the current model, the 2.0 petrol is down to 159g/km from 189 g/km due in part to new i-stop technology and the 1.6 diesel is now just 119g/km, down from 128g/km, and benefits from only £35 per year road tax.

Technical innovations include the fuel-stretching 'i-stop' (Smart Idling Stop System) technology on the Mazda3 2.0 Sport – which can deliver fuel consumption savings of up to 16 per cent on the combined cycle – and the new five-speed automatic transmission on the Mazda3 2.0 TS2 model.

Safety is paramount on all-new Mazda3, with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and an Emergency Stop Signaling (ESS) System standard on all models.  This system automatically activates the hazard warning lights at cruising speeds when the ABS sensors detect emergency braking – and cancels the emergency signal when either the demand for ABS relaxes or when the brake pedal is released.

Rivervale Mazda in Victoria Road will offer Mazda3 customers a choice of three petrol and three diesel powertrains, all fine-tuned to use less fuel.  Customers who prefer a petrol engine can choose from 1.6-litre (105ps), 2.0-litre (150ps with a new 5-speeed automatic transmission) or 2.0-litre (151ps) powertrains for the 11 regular Mazda3 models.  The choice of diesel engines is expanded to encompass 1.6-litre (109ps), and the new 2.2-litre (150ps) and 2.2-litre (185ps) engines.

To find out more about the Mazda range or to arrange a test-drive, please call Rivervale Mazda on 01273 707007 or visit the showroom at Victoria Road, Brighton.

Add to that improved fuel consumption – just 40.4mpg for the 1.8i SE, up from 38.7mpg – which contributes to reduced  running costs over the outgoing model.  In addition, the whole sports car ownership experience is supported by Mazda’s renowned reliability and durability.

For 2009, Mazda MX-5 customers have a choice of four powertrains, the 126ps 1.8i or higher-revving 160ps 2.0i with five-speed gearbox, the 160ps 2.0i with a smooth-shifting six‑speed manual gearbox and the new 160ps 2.0i ‘PowerShift’ six-speed sequential paddle‑shift transmission with full-auto mode, offering thrilling B-road cross-country drives and easy city driving and motorway cruising.

FANTASTIC FINANCE OFFERS ON MAZDA6 AT RIVERVALE MAZDA

Rivervale Mazda in Brighton is offering customers 0 per cent APR* and 3.9 per cent APR**, with a minimum 50 per cent deposit, on Mazda6 models until 30 September 2009.  The Mazda6 line-up is priced from £15,685 on-the-road and now features an all-new MZR-CD 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine.

Alternatively, customers trading-in vehicles over 10 years old under the Government-backed vehicle scrappage scheme can benefit from a Mazda allowance of £2,000, in addition to the £1,000 Government contribution, on all new Mazda6 models – bringing the entry-level price to just £12,685.

“The Mazda6 is one of the most stylish cars in its class and its performance, practicality and economy figures are amongst the best available,” comments Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.  “It is also one of Europe’s safest cars after being among the first models to achieve the new five-star accolade in tough new crash tests undertaken by Euro NCAP.

“The Mazda6 has also been named as the financially astute downsizing option for cost-conscious motorists by leading consumer magazine Which? Car. The Mazda6 really is the perfect choice for families, fleets and businesses supplying company cars.”

The Mazda6 2.2-litre diesel is available at Rivervale Mazda in three power derivatives – 185ps, 163ps and 125ps – and is priced from £16,680.  It is one of the quietest and most powerful engines in its class, offering substantially higher power and torque than the previous generation Mazda6 2.0-litre diesel.

On the combined cycle, the new Mazda6 diesel returns between 51.4mpg and 49.6mpg, with CO2 figures of just 147g/km to 152g/km (depending on model).  Combined with very attractive pricing, these CO2 outputs deliver outstanding Benefit-in-Kind personal tax rates for company car drivers.

A significant safety boost is also being provided for Mazda6 drivers with the introduction of Mazda’s lane‑change ‘Rear Vehicle Monitoring System’ – as standard on 15 models, from TS2 upwards.  The new fully automatic active safety feature detects and warns the driver of an approaching vehicle before he/she moves across into a busy lane by mistake.  Mazda is one of the first carmakers to introduce such a system.

Other safety features as standard on the Mazda6 line-up include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), which has been hailed by road safety campaigners as the most significant safety advance since the introduction of the seatbelt.

In addition, Sport and Sport Luxury models are fitted with Smart Keyless Entry (with push button engine Start/Stop) as standard.

ALL-NEW MAZDA3 2.0 SPORT INTRODUCES ‘I-STOP’ TECHNOLOGY

On sale since 18 May at Rivervale Mazda, the all-new Mazda3 range incorporates a distinctively fresh bodystyle that portrays a more powerful and emotional design, plus a richer expression and a more dynamic stance.  Now the 20-model line up is completed by the arrival of two Mazda3 2.0 Sport models (hatchback and saloon) at the Victoria Road-based showroom.  These models, priced from £18,025 on-the-road, feature 151ps petrol engines and innovative 'i-stop' (Smart Idling Stop System) fuel-stretching technology.

The system automatically switches off the engine, on engaging neutral, whenever the car is stationary (or travelling below 3km/h / 2mph) for more than a few seconds and restarts the engine when the driver simply depresses the clutch.  This delivers significant fuel-saving benefits for retail and fleet customers – without distracting from this model's truly sporty driving experience.

"The all-new Mazda3 2.0 Sport features Mazda's exciting 'i-stop' technology, delivering unique performance and cost savings to fleets, company car and individual private drivers," comments Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.   "In recent times, a 2.0 Sport petrol model may not have been the obvious first choice for a city-bound driver.  However, the introduction of Mazda's highly efficient i-stop technology means that this latest model may change all that.  The new Mazda3 2.0 Sport with i-stop will be the right choice for city drivers who still want to experience power and performance from their out on the open roads.

"Indeed, the Mazda3 2.0 Sport with i-stop makes cost-effective performance driving accessible to a totally new group of drivers.  For drivers who regularly experience stop-start motoring on urban roads, Mazda's fuel-saving i-stop technology mated to this 2.0 engine is the sensible money-saving choice," adds Hance.

Fitted with Mazda's i-stop technology, the new Mazda3 2.0 Sport delivers fuel economy savings of up to 16 percent (mpg, combined cycle) over the outgoing model, with CO2 emissions reduced by up to 19 percent.  Drivers whose mileage is predominantly city-based can achieve even greater fuel-savings and the model's official CO2 rating (159g/km) falls below the benchmark 160g/km capital allowance tax threshold, thereby making it an even better choice as a company car and enabling companies to maximise corporate tax savings following April's changes to the system.

"The new Mazda3 2.0 i-stop falls into the 19 percent benefit-in-kind tax bracket in 2009/10 and with capital allowance benefits and first-class fuel economy the model represents the cost-effective choice for fleets and user-chooser company car drivers alike.  With i-stop helping to ensure CO2 emissions are below 160g/km, it's great news for fleet drivers," concluded Hance.

The all-new Mazda3 Sport achieves a rapid 0-62mph in 10.4 seconds and 41.5mpg on the combined cycle.  The hatchback and saloon versions are priced from £18,025 and current offers include typical 0 percent* and 3.9 percent** APR finance packages available with variable deposits.  Alternatively, customers can take advantage of a £2,000 discount available as part of the Government-backed scrappage scheme.

To find out more about the Mazda range or to arrange a test-drive, please call Rivervale Mazda on 01273 707007 or visit the showroom at Victoria Road, Brighton.

NEW DIESEL MODELS ENHANCE MAZDA2 LINE-UP AT RIVERVALE MAZDA

The expanded Summer 2009 Mazda2 range is now available at Rivervale Mazda and features a number of exterior and interior enhancements, plus the introduction of two new 1.6D Sport diesel models, that make the 12-strong model range even more attractive.

Until 30 September 2009, the Victoria Road showroom is offering drivers the chance to purchase all Mazda2 models with typical 0 per cent APR* finance with a minimum 50 per cent deposit required or 3.9 per cent APR** with no minimum deposit.  Alternatively, Mazda is offering a Scrappage Allowance of £1,000, in addition to the £1,000 Government contribution, for customers trading-in vehicles over 10 years old.

"We expect the 2009 line-up, with its significant design and specification upgrades, plus the incredibly fuel-efficient new diesel Sport models, to strongly appeal to customers," commented Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.  "The Mazda2 is one of the very best cars available in the supermini market and boasts a spacious cabin and excellent driving dynamics as well as low running costs and low CO2 emissions."

The new 1.6-litre diesel engine is available in the Mazda2 Sport in both 3dr and 5dr body styles, offering an unrivalled, class-best blend of performance and fuel economy.  The Mazda2 1.6D accelerates to 62mph in 11.4 seconds, achieves 67.3 mpg (combined cycle) and has a CO2 rating of only 112 g/km, qualifying for Band B annual road tax of just £35.

Equipment levels on Mazda2 are extremely generous.  For 2009, specification upgrades on Mazda2 TS models include air-conditioning as standard, two remote jack-knife keys for the remote central locking with deadlocks and silver bezels on the steering wheel.  The Mazda2 TS2 (from £10,295) has interior design updates with silver door handles, air-conditioning dials and gear knob decoration, plus a matt black centre console and dark-grey door trim inserts.

Occupant safety levels are amongst the best in class, with the Mazda2 5dr achieving a five-Star EuroNCAP crash test safety rating. The three-door also benefits from the same level of safety design, engineering and equipment.

Largely in recognition of Mazda's 'dare to be different approach', the new Mazda2 was named 'World Car of the Year 2008', beating a list of 39 other contenders, including the short-listed Ford Mondeo and Mercedes C-Class.

With a starting price of £9,295 (on-the-road), or just £7,295 under the scrappage scheme, the entry-level Mazda2 (TS, 3dr, 1.3-litre, 75ps petrol) with air-conditioning as standard, is one of the most price-competitive small cars in the UK.  Prices for the Mazda2 5dr start at £9,645 (TS 1.3-litre, 75ps), or just £7,645 under the scrappage scheme.

The new 20-strong model line-up (16 hatchback and four saloon cars), priced from £13,500 on-the-road, also boasts a more striking design, higher levels of interior comfort and a more luxurious cabin.  All new Mazda3 models are available with 0 per cent APR* or low rate finance, including those purchased under the new scrappage scheme.

This system automatically activates the hazard warning lights at cruising speeds when the ABS sensors detect emergency braking.  The system automatically cancels the emergency signal when either the demand for ABS relaxes or when the brake pedal is released.

Rivervale Mazda in Brighton will offer Mazda3 customers a choice of three petrol and three diesel powertrains, all fine-tuned to use less fuel.
