JUST DAYS LEFT FOR MAZDA MX-5 SPECIAL DEALS

Car buyers seeking top-down summer fun only have a few days to order the class-leading Mazda MX-5 two-seater sports car with typical 0% finance at Rivervale Mazda in Brighton.

The 12 to 36 month typical 0% APR* deals (excluding Northern Ireland) finish on 30 June 2008 for retail buyers of Britain’s favourite sports car.

“This offer has really caught people’s imagination, and with only a week to go we’re getting a lot of enquires,” said Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.

Costing from £15,750 on-the-road, the latest Mazda MX-5, available in either classic soft-top or quick-action powered hardtop guises, has been subtly upgraded with a mix of enhanced equipment, driving dynamics and clever under-the-skin changes to further improve its C02 emissions and economy.

Last year over 9,200 British sports car fans were seduced by the Mazda MX-5’s mix of precision handling –– thanks to its near 50/50 weight distribution, spirited performance and ‘sensible’ features including market-defining running costs, build quality and re-sale value. This all means the Mazda MX-5 is a car that can be bought with the head as well as the heart.

The seven-strong Mazda MX-5 range feature subtle styling revisions, larger alloy wheels, twin-exhaust tailpipe and upgraded 1.8 and 2.0-litre engines. The model’s improved, across-the-range heating and air conditioning further enhances its all-weather credentials, so it doesn’t matter what the weather is like this summer.

To find out more about the Mazda MX-5 or to arrange a test-drive, please call Rivervale Mazda on 01273 707007 or visit the showroom at Victoria Road, Brighton.

RIVERVALE HELPS MAZDA UK HIT RECORD SALES

Rivervale Mazda in Brighton has helped Mazda UK report record sales for May. Despite the economic downturn, private buyers are flocking to Rivervale Mazda thanks to excellent customer service and a fantastic product line-up.

"Despite the credit crunch, Mazda sales are soaring," said Malcolm Hance dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda. "This is because the Mazda range caters for every motoring requirement and at Rivervale Mazda we can also tailor finance packages to suit the individual, to ensure we meet customer needs.

"Mazda's strategy of pursuing lightweight construction and maximum fuel efficiency from conventional engines is also appealing to customers as oil prices keep on rising."

Mazda UK saw its retail sales rise 17.8 per cent in the retail sector in a month when the retail market was down 10.3 per cent as the impact of the credit crunch begins to bite. Furthermore, Mazda's retail sales for the year to date are up 28.6 per cent.

Managing director of Mazda UK Rob Lindley says: "Growing our sales over 2007 is some achievement in a tough environment and it gives us confidence going forward."

Lindley speculates on whether there is enough confidence to predict another record year for the brand: "I've said before that we could hit 55–56,000 this year, up about 3-3,500 units on 2007. That will be quite a challenge but we will still see growth this year. Having the right models at the right time has helped. Mazda2 sales in the first five months hit 5,435. That's more than in the whole of last year."

Mazda3 is the best seller on 5,572, but the new Mazda6 is doing exceptionally well on 5,381 and is proving especially popular among private buyers tempted by its best‑in-class fuel efficiency.

"The Mazda2 3dr model has just launched which will increase our small car sales here at Rivervale Mazda and other recently launched product derivatives such as the Mazda6 diesel and Estate models will help keep that momentum going this year," Malcolm Hance added.

RIVERVALE MAZDA CELEBRATES MAZDA ‘BEST CARMAKER’ AWARD FROM WHICH?

Residents of Brighton can now purchase a new vehicle from the winner of the Which? Award for ‘Best Carmaker’ by visiting Mazda dealership Rivervale Mazda in Victoria Road. Mazda has scooped the coveted honour of ‘Best Carmaker’ at the second annual Which? Awards, which recognise the companies and individuals that best serve the interests of consumers.

“The fact that Mazda beat marques such as BMW and Audi just goes to show the quality of the vehicles we sell,” explained Malcolm Hance dealer principal for Rivervale Mazda. “The success we’ve had over the last year, despite the credit crunch, is further evidence that we have the right product. Add to that our customer service and tailored finance packages and you can see why drivers choose Rivervale Mazda when purchasing a vehicle.”

Explaining why Mazda won the award, Which? Stated: “The company ranks highly for reliability. Mazda dealers score above average for customer care for both sales and servicing or repairs in the 2008 Which? Car survey. Buyers rightly expect a lot from a new car and a Mazda rarely disappoints.”

Racing legend Sir Stirling Moss OBE presented the Best Carmaker award to Mazda’s delighted managing director Rob Lindley at the Which? Awards ceremony, held recently at the British Museum.

In a highly complimentary Awards summation, Which? praised Mazda for its: “…blend of excellent value for money, reliability and innovation. A major advantage is that nearly all Mazda offerings are interesting to drive. There’s something for everyone in the Mazda range.

“The Mazda3 (medium cars) and Mazda MX-5 (sports cars) are comfortable Best Buys – the good-looking Mazda3 stands out from humdrum medium cars. It still looks fresh and stylish, despite being older than many popular rivals. For many, the evergreen Mazda MX-5 is the cheapest way into an entertaining sporty runner.

“It’s been a good year for new launches, too – the all-new Mazda2 supermini and Mazda6 family car have impressed us and are sure to become firm favourites with drivers. Each would be a strong contender on a shortlist. The Mazda2 and Mazda6 do well in our road tests and safety-wise, they represent a major step forward for the Japanese carmaker. The Mazda2 scored five stars in Euro NCap crash tests, and we expect the Mazda6 to do the same.

“Here at Which?, we dig deep to look at trends that are shaping the future of mass motoring. Mazda’s focus on small innovations that make owners’ lives easier is to be commended. A great example is Mazda’s use of lightweight components on the new Mazda2 and Mazda6 ranges, which help to save petrol or diesel and offset high fuel prices. This bucks the trend seen in most new models, which are often significantly heavier than their predecessors because of higher demand for equipment and features.

“All the Mazda models praised by Which? are available at Rivervale Mazda and with such a wide range there is a car to suit everyone’s needs,” says Malcolm Hance. “I’d like to invite Brighton residents to come to our showroom and take a test-drive to experience for themselves why Which? has named Mazda ‘Best Carmaker’.”

THE MAZDA2 PLUS A THREE-DOOR OPTION EQUALS ONE MORE GREAT REASON

Great news a three-door version of the award-winning Mazda2 is now available at Rivervale Mazda in Victoria Road. Starting at just £7,999 on-the-road, the Mazda2 3dr is one of the most price-competitive small cars in the UK.

“This is the first time that Mazda has offered a three-door variant in its popular Mazda2 model range,” commented Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda. “The newcomer features all the technology and attributes of the five-door hatchback, while delivering the same sporty feel to its dynamic drive at an even more affordable price.”

The Mazda2 5dr broke all the rules for increasing weight and size with each successive replacement model leading to excellent fuel consumption –– up to 65.7mpg – and to an annual road tax rate of just £35 thanks to a CO2 rating starting from just 114g/km. Whilst the three-door model is yet to be tested by Euro NCAP, occupant safety levels are still amongst the best in class and three-door is expected to match the Mazda2 five-door’s 5 Star performance.

Thanks to this 'dare to be different approach' the new Mazda2 was first short listed and then crowned ‘World Car of the Year 2008’ beating a list of 39 world wide contenders including the short-listed Ford Mondeo and Mercedes C-Class.

As well as sharing some interior and exterior styling, both the three-door and five-door versions of new Mazda2 are generously equipped to offer a complete Zoom Zoom experience. However, three-door owners will feature ‘tilt-and-slide’ front seats to allow access to the rear seats, unique side sills in the Sports Styling Kit, the exclusive availability of Crystal White Pearlescent exterior paint on all models and a choice of three petrol engines and one turbo-diesel engine, as the five-door –– each mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

All in all the new Mazda2 three-door will be the answer to the super-mini dilemma.

To find out more about the new Mazda2 range or to arrange a test-drive, please call Rivervale Mazda on 01273 707007 or visit the Victoria Road showroom in Brighton.

VITAL STATISTICS TO SMILE ABOUT

It’s all smiles at Mazda after it was announced that the Japan’s finest export has seen levels of production with Japan increase by 23.1% in April 2008 compared to April 2007. Senior staff have highlighted a surge in production since the launch of the Mazda2 supermini, recently voted 2008’s ‘World Car of the Year’ and the new look Mazda6 saloon and estate vehicles.

Total production of Mazda2 was 15,920 in April, a year-on-year increase of 165.9%, Mazda6 was up 63.1% year-on-year at 13,661 units while CX-7 saw a rise of 60.4% year-on-year to 5,191 units.

These successes helped lift Mazda’s passenger car production for the first four months of the year to 366,983 units, an increase of 22.5% over the first four months of 2007.

More importantly however, overseas production also showed healthy increases for the month, up 24.7% compared to the same month in 2007 thanks mainly to strong demand for Mazda6 (up 51.5% year-on-year at 10,475 units), BT-50 (up 30.9% at 5,787 units) and Mazda3 (up 16.3% at 3,923 units).

They may be predicting an economic slowdown, but it seems that there couldn’t be a better time to own a Mazda!
