RIVERVALE MAZDA BOOSTS SCRAPPAGE SCHEME WITH LOW COST FINANCE OFFERS

Rivervale Mazda is retaining its popular range of hugely competitive low finance deals for motorists looking to take advantage of the new scrappage scheme.  While many manufacturers have withdrawn their most competitive rates, Rivervale Mazda is keeping its collection of 0 per cent* finance deals – meaning even more added value for Brighton motorists changing their 'old' model for a new Mazda.

The scrappage scheme starts on 18 May and will run until 28 February 2010 or until the £300 million Government funding has been used.  Under the terms of the programme, a £2,000 discount against the purchase price of a new Mazda can be obtained – £1,000 each from the Government and Mazda – when the owner scraps a vehicle over 10 years old.

"Our collection of low finance deals brings a new Mazda within reach for an increasing number of motorists," highlights Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.  "It's about the affordability of the monthly payments and our low finance rates make it possible for our customers to purchase a new Mazda."

"Our vehicles have an enviable reputation for reliability and low operating costs and with the assistance of the scrappage scheme and the availability of low cost finance, we are giving consumers even more reasons to buy a Mazda."

With a full suite of finance offers in place it means that 0 per cent funding options are available on a number of models including Mazda2 and the all-new Mazda3, which are expected to be the most popular for consumers taking advantage of the scrappage scheme. In addition, both ranges are also available with a 3.9 per cent rate for traditional conditional sale finance or a PCP, with the scrappage discount acting as a deposit.

But, the entire Mazda model line-up at Rivervale Mazda's Victoria Road showroom, which also includes Mazda5, Mazda6, MX-5, RX-8 and BT-50, is available through the scrappage scheme and with a number of different finance offers.

Mazda UK sales and marketing director Mark Cameron adds: "Unlike some of our competitors we have not reduced the strength of our current retail finance offers for non-scrappage scheme customers. So whether looking to buy a new Mazda inside or outside of the new scrappage programme, Mazda is making the opportunity to buy a new car as attractive as possible."

MAZDA UNVEILS FIRST NORWEGIAN-SPECIFICATION RX-8 HYDROGEN RE AT OSLO CEREMONY

Another environmentally focused solution from Mazda – a Norwegian-specification RX-8 Hydrogen RE – was unveiled today at an historic event in Oslo. The vehicle was unveiled as part of a ceremony celebrating the opening of the latest HyNor hydrogen filling stations. With this opening, Norway's national hydrogen project has taken a major step towards creating an extended hydrogen infrastructure along the 580 km Oslo to Stavanger route.

On hand at the ceremony was the Norwegian Minister of Transportation, Ms. Liv Signe Navarsete, who drove the Mazda rotary-engine sports coupe from Oslo to the Drammen station on zero-emission hydrogen. After delivery of this first facelifted version of the RX-8 Hydrogen RE, Mazda will provide more Norwegian-spec vehicles to the HyNor project under commercial lease contracts beginning this summer.

Mazda also leases this environmental, four-seat sports coupe in Japan, but for the HyNor project it has been developed to meet Norwegian and European specifications with left hand drive and a manual transmission. The product of 18 years of Mazda hydrogen fuel research and development, it uses a dual-fuel rotary engine that allows you to switch between using hydrogen or petrol in areas with no hydrogen infrastructure.

This latest unveiling is just one of Mazda's environmentally-friendly technologies to be introduced as part of its 'Sustainable Zoom-Zoom' strategy; and includes such innovative products as next-generation clean diesel engines, and a fuel-saving idle-stop system called i-STOP.

ALL-NEW MAZDA3 ON SALE AT RIVERVALE MAZDA FROM 18 MAY 2009 PRICED FROM £13,500

The all-new Mazda3 range is set to arrive at Rivervale Mazda offering motorists outstanding value for money thanks to its generous equipment levels and low running costs.

Both retail and fleet customers in Brighton will benefit from lower road tax as well as capital allowance savings due to the dramatic CO2 reductions that bring models below the 120g/km and 160g/km tax thresholds.

The new 20-strong model line-up (16 hatchback and four saloon cars), priced from £13,000 on-the-road, also boasts a more striking design, higher levels of interior comfort and a more luxurious cabin.

"With its fresh bodystyle, more powerful and emotional design, the all-new Mazda3 brings the sophistication, style, technology and refinement of the larger Mazda6 to the small family car sector," comments Malcolm Hance, dealer principal at Rivervale Mazda.  "The new model is improved visually, technically and in terms of comfort.  It also has an even more generous specification at each equipment level, so Mazda3 continues to deliver great value for money."

The all-new Mazda3 now has best-in-class aerodynamics, retuned powertrains and reduced weight (down by 15 kilos on some models), resulting in significant reductions in CO2 and fuel consumption.

The CO2 output of the 1.6 petrol model has been cut to just 149g/km, from 162g/km on the current model, the 2.0 petrol is down to 159g/km from 189 g/km due in part to new i-stop technology and the 1.6 diesel is now just 119g/km, down from 128g/km, and benefits from only £35 per year road tax.

Technical innovations include the fuel-stretching 'i-stop' (Smart Idling Stop System) technology on the Mazda3 2.0 Sport – which can deliver fuel consumption savings of up to 14 per cent on the combined cycle – and the new five-speed automatic transmission on the Mazda3 2.0 TS2 model.

Safety is paramount on all-new Mazda3, with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and an Emergency Stop Signaling (ESS) System standard on all models.  This system automatically activates the hazard warning lights at cruising speeds when the ABS sensors detect emergency braking.  The system automatically cancels the emergency signal when either the demand for ABS relaxes or when the brake pedal is released.

Rivervale Mazda in Victoria Road will offer Mazda3 customers a choice of three petrol and three diesel powertrains, all fine-tuned to use less fuel.  Customers who prefer a petrol engine can choose from 1.6-litre (105ps), 2.0-litre (150ps with a new 5-speeed automatic transmission) or 2.0-litre (151ps) powertrains for the 11 regular Mazda3 models.  The choice of diesel engines is expanded to encompass 1.6-litre (109ps), and the new 2.2-litre (150ps) and 2.2-litre (185ps) engines

To find out more about the Mazda range or to arrange a test-drive, please call Rivervale Mazda on 01273 707007 or visit the showroom at Victoria Road, Brighton.

New look Mazda3 on sale from 18 May at Rivervale Mazda – Priced from £13,500

One of the most popular Mazda models in Britain gets a major boost to its appeal on 18 May when the all-new Mazda3 range goes on sale, priced from £13,500 (on-the-road).  The new 20-strong model line-up (16 hatchback and four saloon cars), has a more striking design, higher levels of interior comfort and a more premium cabin environment.  Both retail and fleet customers will benefit from the dramatic CO2 reductions that Mazda’s engineers have achieved to bring models below the 120g/km and 160g/km tax thresholds.

“With its fresh bodystyle, more powerful and emotional design, the all-new Mazda3 brings the sophistication, style, technology and refinement of the larger Mazda6 to the small family car sector" comments Malcolm Hance, Dealer Principle of Rivervale Mazda.  “The new model is improved visually, technically and in terms of comfort.  We have given it an even more generous specification at each equipment level, so Mazda3 continues to deliver great value for money.”

The all-new Mazda3 is offered with a choice of four petrol and three diesel powertrains, all fine‑tuned to use less fuel.  Customers who prefer a petrol engine can choose from 1.6-litre (105ps), 2.0-litre (150ps with a new 5-speed automatic transmission) or 2.0-litre (151ps) powertrains for the 11 regular Mazda3 models – or the 2.3-litre 260ps turbocharged engine in the Mazda3 MPS, due to be launched later in the year.  The choice of diesel engines is expanded to encompass 1.6-litre (109ps), and the new 2.2-litre (150ps) and 2.2-litre (185ps) engines.

The all-new shape of the new Mazda3 has lowered aerodynamic drag to just Cd 0.28 (saloon) and 0.30 (hatchback) – ‘best-in-class’ figures.  The improved aerodynamics and retuned powertrains, plus the reduced weight (down by 15 kilos on some models), result in significant reductions in CO2 and fuel consumption.  On the official combined cycle, petrol models achieve up to 44.8mpg, while diesel models record up to 62.8mpg.

“The CO2 output of the 1.6 petrol model has been cut to 149g/km, from 162g/km on the current model.  The 2.0 petrol is down to 159g/km from 189g/km due in part to the new i-stop technology.  The 1.6 diesel model emits just 119g/km, down from 128g/km, and benefits from only £35 per year road tax.  Even the range-topping Mazda3 MPS, powered by a turbocharged 2.3 petrol engine has slashed CO2 output to 224g/km meaning that the annual road tax will be just £215 as opposed to £405 on the current vehicle,” highlights Malcolm Hance.

Technical innovations featured on the all-new Mazda3 include the fuel-stretching ‘i-stop’ (Smart Idling Stop System) technology on the Mazda3 2.0 Sport (available from June), which can deliver fuel consumption savings of up to 16 percent on the combined cycle.

Safety is paramount on the all-new Mazda3 with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and an Emergency Stop Signalling (ESS) System standard on all models.  This system automatically activates the hazard warning lights at cruising speeds when the ABS sensors detect emergency braking.  Mazda's Traction Control System (TCS), active front head restraints and six airbags are also standard across the range.

Special finance offers until 30 June 2009

Retail customers purchasing the all-new Mazda3 before the end of June can choose from a number of special finance packages including 0 percent APR* with 50 percent deposit over 12, 24 or 36 months or 3.9 percent APR** with 10 percent deposit, or 5.9 percent APR** with no minimum deposit over 12, 24 or 36 months.  For full details of the finance offers available visit www.mazda.co.uk.
